Death of Dimebag Darrell

Darrell Lance Abbot the famous american Heavy Metal guitarrist, born in 20.august 1966. Darrel got famous playing in bands like Pantera and Damageplan. He got himself two very Bad Ass nickname "Dimebag Darrel" and "Diamond Darrell". Dimebag was described by "ALLMUSIC" as "one of the most influential stylists in modern metal". Darrel got insane guitar playing talent and found his way into Metal fans hearts, where he still lays even after he was murdered. On the 8. december 2004 during the live at the Alrosa Villa on the stage with Damageplan. A man with the gun whos name was Nathan Gale appeared on the stage and shot dimebag eight times, five times in the head. Gale continued shooting, killing four others and wounding a further seven. Jeff "Mayhem" Thompson, who was the bands head of security, was killed tackling Gale, so was Alrosa Villa employee Erin Halk. Audience member Nathan Bray was killed while trying to perform artificial respiration on Dimebag and Mayhem. It was rumored that one crowd member leaped in front of the gunman, saving the life of several band members. Damageplan drum technician, John "Kat" Brooks, was shot three times as he tried to get the gun away from Gale, but was overpowered and taken hostage in a headlock position. Tour manager Chris Paluska was also injured. Seven police officers came in the front entrance, and moved toward the stage. Officer Niggemeyer came in through the back door, behind the stage. Gale only saw the officers in front of the stage; he never saw Officer Niggemeyer who was armed with a shotgun. He approached Gale and fired a single shot, striking Gale in the face with eight of the nine buckshot pellets. Gale was found to have 35 rounds of ammunition remaining. Whos knows how many more would´ve killed. . There are many theories to what was the motive to Gale and to kill Dimebag. Most told story is that it was because the breakup of Pantera. Some say it was because of public dispute between Pantera Lead singer Phil Anselmo and Dimebag. Another theory speaks of that Darrel had stolen song written by Gale in his book A Vulgar Display Of Power. It was a sad night for all the Dimebag fans, for all the Damageplan fans and Pantera fans, huge lost to the Metal world and deffinetly one of the worst catastrophe in the Music history. R.I.P Darrel Lance "Dimebag" Abbott.
